Effect of Hot Rolling on Microstructural Evolution and Wear Behaviors of G20CrNi2MoA Bearing Steel

Hot rolling can improve the mechanical properties after heat treatment by improving microstructure. The effect of hot (HR) deformation on microstructural transformation G20CrNi2MoA bearing steel in subsequent CQT (carburizing-quenching and tempering) RQT (reheating-quenching processes was studied. results indicate that austenite grain size decreased 20% 45% reduction, number large-angle boundaries increased due to recovery recrystallization induced deformation. refinement grains retained dual austenitizing, massive dislocation caused promoted diffusion carbon atoms during carburization, resulting a higher surface concentration. refined concentration affected volume fraction undissolved carbides specimens. When initial reduction reached 45%, average particle 40%, area 37%. Vickers hardness increased, but friction coefficient wear rate were significantly reduced with increase reduction. main reasons for improved resistance fine grains, superior carbide distribution high hardness.
